I have had the same shooting vest for 20 years and it’s got a bit
tatty.
As I don’t shoot that often I cant justify spending £120 on a Musto
shooting vest.
But I would love to have one.

However I could Justify spending £300 on a Musto Coat because I wear
it every day in the winter.

The first time I used it for shooting. It absolutely poured down with
rain and it was fabulous to be dry and warm. ( My Barbour was usually
as wet on the inside as out )

Now my 20 year old Hunters are looking a bit tatty and again I cant
Justify spending oodles of money ( I don’t have ) on tailored full
length zip boots. But I do want them so bad.

Hey up Charles,

I spend as little as possibe on my shooting clothing I used to use the
ordinary black wellies, then I got some waders given from a mate, stlll the
black ones with the steel toe caps (damn cold in winter I can tell you) I
now have a bit of luxury thanks to another mate, some leather lined Le
Chameau wellies, lovely and comfortable and warm.(one of the zips broke so
he bought some new ones)

My old barbour was that bad a bloke I did my forestry training with gave me
a brand new one but I still use the old one for wildfowling or rather I did.

I guess had I been a driven game shooter or a clay shooter I would have had
to keep up appearances so to speak. As a rough and I mean very rough shooter
and vermin shooter the tweeds and plus four style is not necessary.

www.derbyhouse.co.uk have a good selection of boots at good prices,
they have their own brand, which, in my opinion are as good as the
originals. I've got some Dubarry long boots, the Derby House ones are a
third of the price, and are as good from what I have seen.

30 degrees C
apparel shooters wear compared to ordinary folk

non-shooters.
light trousers, flip flops, top (optional) the lightest of cotton flimsy.

Shooters in 30 degrees C

: Extra outer vest for added warmth. leather components to really help
keep the cold out.

: Hat. prevent heat loss from your head. In cold countries everyone
wears a hat.

Ear Muffs: prevent frostbite. always keep your ears well covered in very
cold weather

Gloves: don't let that cold get to your fingers !!

Added heating: Just to make sure they don't get hypothermia shooters
also carry a bag of lead to give them the exercise needed to stay warm.

I'd be overjoyed to find a decent pair of leather boots that are waterproof
and don't cost the earth my last pair were ok for a couple of months or so
then the uppers unsealed from the soles X3M1 about as much use as chocolate
fireguards and happily they seem to have disappeared from the traders
shelves
pity I can't find the reciept
