A buddy of mine has just bought a 2nd hand Browning Medallist. He
phoned me to say that it was great gun but had an auto safety catch
(so?) ..... that has to released for each barrel. eg safety off and
pull trigger and for second shot safety off again and pull trigger!!
Hmmm. Has anyone else heard of such an arrangement?

TIA

No sounds faulty or he is mistaken, the safety is activated when the gun is
broken open . If it appears to go on of its own volition then it is
possible it can also deactivate in the same way I did have a sidelock with
that fault some years ago.

If in doubt get it looked at!

The answer is 'Mistaken'. I used it today and it's a standard auto safety.
It was the first time he'd come accross anything other than a non auto
safety and it led to confusion. Thanks for the responses anyway folks.Always
appreciated.

tks

Richard
