In my experience most of the dealers do have new guns, the standard
engraving pattern is naturally the most popular, its an attractive
piece of kit and does the job oh so well. The higher grades are out
there in a mix of new and used but there are so many grades that you
wont find a dealer with 5x standard grades, 5x super scrolls, 5x gold
super scroll, 5x plantation, 5x gold plantation, 5x schilling scroll,
5x danube etc etc. Its more a case of theres a plantation coming in,
dealer x is having it, go to dealer x et voila. Phone or email Alan
Rhone and ask him whos got a new plantation.

If its just a case of trying the sporter and trap versions I can get
hold of someone with such guns any weekend and say gives a go mister,
after that its personal taste as to engraving, the twirly stuff doesnt
break any more clays does it!

I'm in the process of sorting out another K80 and i shoot a 32"
supersport with an adjustable trap stock and trap forend with the
option of 30" barrels and a precision fit stock too if required ... I
know its not the pattern youre after but its for sale so worthy of
mention. Look at www.perazzi.co.uk to view.

As for dealers? Haggis at West Country Guns & Jonathan at Mid Wales
are pretty helpful. Havent dealt with the Northern guys.

Ideally I'd like my old k80 that was stolen in 95 purely for shooting
ability, but I have to get rid of some money, so my budget is £20k for
something tempting.

I have to get rid of a lot more unfortunately.
My father died last month and he's left me too much, it causes me
problems that I dont need.
So a new car is on the agenda also.
I'm going to take the K to New Zealand in the new year and do a bit of
shooting visiting my son, I can get a round the world flight for
£1009.
My fathers last words to me were "you enjoy yourself son" I'm going to
do that.

Thanks Dave, everybody, its not been a good time over the last few
weeks.
The emergency Doctor said there was nothing wrong with my Dad, and what
did I want her to do, she refused to admit him to Hospital, and I found
him dead 24hrs later, I have made an official complaint.
Dont think I'm a flash bastard if you see me with my K when I get it, I
did use one for 15yrs till it was nicked, in fact I can say that I gave
Ben Hustwaite his introduction to K's at Doveridge when he about 11, it
is the best clay shotgun on the planet, I was just never able afford
another one till now, my first one only cost £1000 with a spare
barrel.
Joe B

But you can call me a flash bastard if I arrive in a Vantage

What a great story, and what a good bit of advice.

Mind you follow it.....

J. (Also a father, and filing this away for my death-bed...but knowing my
luck, I'll go under a bus before I can use this!)
