seems like a dopey question but I gotta ask:-

When doing license renewal does brother-in-law count as a relative when
getting your photo signed as a true likeness of this person who is in
my opinion etc etc
i.e the counter signatory ?

TIA

Unfortunately yes they would count as a relative. You could ask a local
councilor, business owner, solicitor, doctor or employer providing the firm
is well established.

Hope this helps

Thanks Dave. Thought it could be so. Wanted to use him as he has been
'elevated' in his work and would qualify (if he wasn't my
brother-in-law and so precluded as I now know). Just wanted to be the
first to 'recognise publically' his new status - sort of. Will buy him
a gift instead....

Smoke 'em all.

Hello,

I would assume as the person is classed as a relative "in law" the answer
would be yes I would think the police would view him as a relation.
