Why is it, that the attachments never quite fit properly on rifle or shotgun
cleaning rods. They nearly fit, often screwing on perhaps one and a half
turns, but no more, or they go on and then the thread chews up, and won't
come off.
I could understand it if they all came from seperate companies, or
continents perhaps.
It really is about time that companies such as Napier got up to speed on
limits fits and tolerances of threads.
I know I should perhaps learn from my mistakes a little bit sooner, but I
now have 2 shotgun cleaning rods and 2 rifle cleaning rods from Napier,
along with a number of screw on attachments.
They are all crap.

Never had a problem in that respect ( I don't have Napier kit btw mine is
mostly Parker Hale) my only issue is I tend to over tighten jags and they
are a sod to get off when coated in oil luckily my old writing desk has
suspension bars that fit in the slot. Try getting yourself a Payne Galway
brush ( Bisley ) best £6 I ever spent on cleaning equipment

and also the aluminium rods I've found are far more robust than the wooden
ones, where the brass screw thing (looks like it is just crimped on) just
loosens and falls off eventually.

Dunno never had an end fall off either mine are rather old rods tho' turned
down to fit inside the brass end fittings and a brass pin fitted through to
stop them spinning if the glue goes west.

Had the same problem ages ago. I'm sure there are two very similar threads
used.
Tried to fit some extras to my pull through kit. No go, seem to remember I
bought some more and all fine.

I've given up on wooden cleaning rods with brass attachments; they kept
falling apart on me. Gone to pure aluminium and not had a problem since.
